While eating breakfast with my 12 year old this morning, he told me his math teacher doesn’t assign homework. Instead he assigns “practice”. The saying goes “Practice makes perfect”, and I knew my son had heard the expression so I said, “Yeah, that makes sense because practice makes…”
Chad finished finished it with “Mom, practice makes better.”
He’s right. I can always count on my kids to give me some needed perspective. Life isn’t about perfection, it’s about practice. We can count on adversity. We can count on making mistakes. The problems we face are our homework assignments. Those are the things that make us better, happier, and more successful.
So forget about perfect and focus on getting better. Keep practicing!
